getting XPe to boot from CF …

I am having issues ... I keep getting "NTLDR is missing, press any key to restart." I have a CF card and IDE adapter that BIOS can detect. Unfortunately, I don't have a floppy attached to the system, so I am making bootable CDs and I put bootprep on it. I booted from the CD and ran bootprep. After this was complete, I restarted the system and loaded regular Windows XP Pro from a harddrive on the 2nd IDE. I then made sure that the CF drive was FAT/FAT32 (just looked at its properties from My Computer). I then copied the XPe files over and rebooted .. I get that error. Even without the files on the CF card, I get the same error. I see that ntdlr file is on the drive too. any advice/?? thanks! -- nadir
