Hello all, For the last two weeks I had tried to read the previous threads and the msdn article and have pretty much tried to deploy my XPE Image on a CF (Sandisk Industrial CF). Some how even it appears to me that I might be doing every step right somehow the CF wouldnt boot. I am not too sure about having done everything right and since the deadline is well staring before me now, I would just eloborate what I had done so far. But whatever I need runs on a hardisk..including configuring EWF..... I need to deploy an Win XPE image on a CF which runs on a Beckhoff EPC. Here are my different methods: I had my run time image developed on a hardisk and everything works fine even if i shift out my hardisk to other system. This certainly proves that its independent of the developement system provided the architecture doesnt differ much. All industrialstandard Sandisk, the newest version would be recognised as Fixed Disk n thats what the ppl from Sandisk said. But I am not able to make it recognise as a Fixed Disk so that I could build the target image directly for the CF and run the CF. (I had my Flash connected to via an IDE adapter, as secondary master) and still its displayed as a removable media. I tried this utility ndc..80.com from sandisk as well but it says Failed with error20. The next step was like connecting the IDE adapter as the primary master and with floppy disk formatting to the FAT32 using fdisk, and finally boot prep....(fdisk, format, fdisk/mbr, bootprep). When I try to boot the CF then it says missing ntldr. I tried copying an ntldr but no avail...Then I tried to deploy my modified XPE image with FAT32 and then tried to boot it(after using Xcopy to transfer it to CF) but the bios hangs after that...(all these are being done on a single machine). I tried this both after and before running FBA's The final step was like formatting it with an XPE CD and then without boot prep deploying the same, again before and after running FBA. I also tried using the convert.exe after the previous step to try it in NTFS format which doesnt require boot prep..and running etprep and the procedures. The BIOS recognises CF as a fixed disk wen I connect it to the IDE adapter, primary. Now heres where iam stuck, Where am I going Wrong? Else besides these is it worth trying to take a runtime image using Norton ghost and then deploying. I am confused abt it.... Well though long..hope someone do find out what I am missing in this deployment.....Hope some one has a timely helpin ans. in this regard thnx in advance regs. vignaesh
